In reflecting on my user research, certain patterns felt pretty strong. Visualizing the data in the key research areas helped to illustrate trends.
The empathy map helped to illustrate how integral users' personal networks (friends, family) are in the trip decision-making process. There was also a strong desire for connection while on a trip: to the place (reflected by the desire for immersion and authenticity), and to their travel companions, which helps to explain why trip realities failing to live up to expectations is often their #1 travel frustration.
The storyboarding exercise captured the user's emotional evolution as she went along her Zeit journey. In illustrating a potential key path scenario, we can understand how Zeit fits into her daily life and the moment its need is felt (triggered).
A composite of my research synthesis findings, Marie emerged as my persona. For her, time traveling fulfilled goals beyond the visceral level. It would be important to provide her with experiences that did the same.
